After the horse itself, the most expensive equipment you’ll buy are horse saddles. There are many styles of saddles, but you should choose the one that you’re comfortable with, fits the horse properly and suits the kind of riding you will do. It is not necessary to have a different saddle for every activity you and your horse participates in, so select the activity you do with the most regularity and choose the saddle type which suits it best.

There are three main types of saddles for serious riders: English, Western, and Australian. Within these types, there are other variations.

English saddles are used by Olympians in equestrian events, designed to give the horse freedom of movement. This saddle is known to be the most comfortable for both the rider and the horse. The Hunt Seat saddle and Cutback saddle are example of this type. Hunt seat saddles are med for jumping while Cutback saddles allows greater movement of the front legs and shoulders.

Western saddles are known as the cowboy saddle, designed to keep a rider secure on an uneven ground. This saddle provides riders the most security, and is often put on working horses. The Ranch saddle is known as the most versatile of this type.

Australian saddles are made for the rider’s comfort, usually used by people who are confident of their riding abilities. They are originally English saddles, of which the most dramatic change was having the addition of poleys, or kneepads in front of the saddle.

Whatever the type of saddle you prefer to use, it is crucial to choose the one that fits your horse properly. Ill-fitting saddles can result to both health and training problems, and can even make your horse behave badly. The breed, overall size and unique physical features must be considered in choosing the saddle The main feature of the saddle which dictates whether it will fit your horse or not, is the width of the gullet. A saddle that is too wide will press down on the withers, while a narrow gullet will pinch. It should comfortably clear a horse’s withers, allow for free movement of the shoulders, be the proper length and shape for its back, and be well balanced to provide good weight distribution.

Test as many saddles as you can. Choose a saddle that feels comfortable to you and allows the proper riding position. Comfort can be determined by size and angle of the seat, stirrup position, cantle height, fork height and angle, and weight of the saddle. If its too small it can make you bump against the pommel at every stride, while too large can make it difficult for you to maintain your position.

Determine your budget. A new saddle can be custom-made for you to fit your horse with the maximum comfort possible, but can fetch a hefty price. Used saddles can be much cheaper. Spend as much as you can and, if possible, choose a quality product rather than a cheap one. Saddles are crucial to a safe and enjoyable riding, so never settle for an inferior product.

Other accessories to look into are horse riding jodhpurs , horse riding body protectors and equestrian cortaflex .

Are you like me tired of the screaming headlines talking about job losses, crashing of stocks, corrupt politics and the world coming to an end????

How do we deal with all of the fear and the dealings of our daily life without wanting to go back to bed and pull the covers over our heads. By going through some basic self help tips you will find you will be able to soothe your nerves and at least be more balanced.

When our brains are in overload fearing everything we just recently read it is important to find some happy juice. This means find some happy ground that you are standing on. O.K. 30,000 people just got laid off but you are not one of them.

Certainly your investments don’t look great but you are still able to catch up. Yes, you owe money on your credit cards but you are paying them and finding new ways to save money…etc. Somehow if we find a way to give ourselves some solid ground the fear stops rattling our heads.

Most of the fear that comes around is ‘turbo-boosted hype’. Bet you have also noticed that even when you have had the worst situation happened that you survived it!

Plus, did you notice that although your brain may have been racing miles ahead of you into much worst scenes…changes are good that not of them happened.

How do we do this???

It is funny how although we can always find joy we often find unhappiness. This is when it is important to find new ways everyday to find happiness almost like reducing your credit card debt or investing more money. You need to work on your financial self help.

Other ways that help us to get more happy juice into our lives:

-surround yourself with happy positive people
-get your finances in order
-take care of your body and mind
-decrease your amount of time listening to and reading the news.

Better yet stop altogether!
-keep things simple in your life and cut back on items that you are doing
-read self-improvement books to find ways to keep yourself positive.

We can choose to live a happy life by just improving our surroundings. What new path will you choose?

This brief article will address in a simple way the question, “Why are there so many Bible translations?” The question is legitimate and many other questions emerge as a result of this one. So, let’s cover the question with some questions, okay?

What is a Bible translation? Properly understood, a true Bible translation is the process of changing the text of the original Greek manuscripts (and a little Aramaic) for the New Testament and Hebrew (and a little Chaldean) for the Old Testament into another language.

The language these New Testament scripts were written in were originally authored in Koine Greek. The Greek of the ordinary man as opposed to Classical Greek. The Hebrew of the Old Testament is still amazingly similar to the Hebrew of today. In a very real sense, the first writings were written in the common language of the people of their times.

The translating of Scripture has been done in several thousand different languages. Whole ministries exist to continue the process of Scripture translation until every tribe and tongue has the Bible, or least a part of it, in their own language.

Are all Bibles you Pick up in a bookstore translations from original manuscripts? More correctly they are translations from a compilation of those manuscripts that exist in book form. An example of this for New Testament translation is the famous Textus Receptus. Greek scholars use these compilations in the work of New Testament translation just as Hebrew scholars use the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament.

It is important for you to understand that all Bibles in a bookstore are not exactly translations. Some are paraphrases. A paraphrase is where a scholar basically tries to put the Bible text into a similar meaning that may be more easily understood by a contemporary reader. Technically, this is called use of the dynamic equivalent. In other words, a chariot in Bible days might be seen as a car in our day. Lots of arguments have ensued over these issues between scholars.

Which translation is the best? Between translations some are more wooden (literal), while others may be a little more loose with the translation. Anyway, we will leave the debates to the scholars about which serves a greater purpose. Between strict loyalty to the laws of translating and the need for people to clearly understand there is a battlefield of argument. I say let’s just pursue reading and praying for understanding of whatever version of a translation we do read.

There are many different versions of the English translations of the Bible available today and most Bible readers have their favorite. Some are completely loyal to the King James Version (KJV) of 1611 while others choose the New Living Translation. I personally like the New King James Version and it is the one I also use most on the online bible study site I make available for surfers. I like it because I grew up on the KJV and the New King James Version (NJKV) reads similarly but the antiquated words like “concupiscence” have been updated to words we can actually understand. I do want to clarify that when people argue about the KJV of 1611, it is really not the original KJV of 1611 they are reading. Reading it is like reading the Canterbury Tales. Besides, what about other language groups who do not speak English? To be so rigid as to allow nothing but an English version of the Bible is a little short sighted in addition to being prideful. We should have respect for the Bible in all its forms.

My answer to the question, “What is the best Bible Translation?” is simply, “The one you can best understand and that draws your heart toward God.” Most translations are really good.

Now back to the question that birthed the title of this article, “Why are there so many translations?” First, because there are so many different languages spoken on the planet. You would have to go back to Babel to try and undo this fact. Secondly, there are so many translations, because the Bible is an absolutely invigorating and inspired book. It is amazing that the same verse of Scripture can produce so many different sermons and most of them good. Like to read sermons? Free sermon outlines are offered online to anyone at anytime. It’s part of my ministry as a pastor.

Yes, the Bible is an absolutely wonderful book. Men have died to protect it, died to translate it, and died to deliver it to others who have never read it. Such a book cannot be left alone. Conversely, others have spent their lives trying to destroy it. It lives on and I encourage you to read it today. God Bless You!

Side note: for self balance info, read about EFT (emotional freedom technique); it has helped many people to open the heart to life.

‘Rat race,’ ‘daily grind,’ ‘routine,’ ‘boring.’ We usually associate these words with work, burdened by a 9-to-5, five- or six-day workweek. If you’re sick of being just another brick in the wall, consider how AJ Jacobs, editor-at-large at Esquire Magazine, broke the mold:

‘I don’t have a corporation; I don’t even have an up-to-date business card. I’m a writer and editor working from home, usually in my boxer shorts or, if I’m feeling formal, my penguin-themed pajama bottoms…. It’s a strange feeling having people work for you while you sleep. Strange, but great. I’m not wasting time while I drool on my pillow; things are getting done.’

Millions of people have been inspired, like Mr. Jacobs, to try out Timothy Ferriss’ life-changing proposition in his bestselling The 4-Hour Workweek. You read it right: not four days but four hours! Too good to be true?

Well, The 4-Hour Workweek teaches you, among many things, how to outsource your life and do whatever you want for a year, only to return to a bank account 50 percent larger than before you left; how to eliminate 50 percent of your work in 48 hours; how to trade a long-haul career for short work bursts and frequent ‘mini-retirements’; what automated cash-flow ‘muses’ are and how to create one in 2 to 4 weeks; the management secrets of ‘Remote Control CEOs’; how to get free housing worldwide and airfare at 50 to 80 percent off; how to fill the void and create meaning after removing work and the office.

Ferriss’ lectures at his alma mater, Princeton University, are a big hit among students. He has also delivered lectures at some of the world’s most respected institutions (MIT, Harvard Business School, CIA, Nielsen, Wharton School, Stanford Graduate School of Business) and innovative companies (Microsoft, Google, PayPal, Ask.com)

Here is Ferriss’ step-by-step guide in restyling your lifestyle:

D for Definition introduces the goals and guiding principles of this new paradigm, a rethinking of old notions about work. The basics of a total lifestyle design are explained before the three factors are added.

E for Elimination kills the obsolete notion of time management once and for all. The first of the three factors in luxury lifestyle design – time – is rethought.

A for Automation puts cash flow on autopilot using geographic arbitrage, outsourcing, and rules of non-decision. This explains the second factor: income.

L for Liberation is the mobile manifesto for the globally inclined. It presents the concept of mini-retirements – your way out of your boss’ traps and a means for efficient remote control. This delivers the third and final ingredient for luxury lifestyle design: mobility.

And what can be a better proof that this four-hour workweek delivers than the author’s lifestyle? This mobile entrepreneur has also become the first American in history to hold a Guinness World Record in tango, a national Chinese kickboxing champion, an MTV breakdancer in Taiwan, and an actor on a hit TV series in China and Hong Kong.

Indeed, Ferriss’ proposition is way beyond cool. We say, let those rats race while you live The 4-Hour Workweek.

We people who have to prepare to speak before other people often find themselves in a place of gridlock. The fear of being repetitive and boring stares you in the face. I constantly am working on preparing free online bible study. So I understand what its like to get a brain freeze in speech preparation.

How do you put this fear in its place and develop a sermon that is unique and dynamic. May I suggest that you use your senses to help you describe whatever it is you are talking about. I’ll spend more time on the first one and then you can apply it to the rest where I will just share an example or two.

1. The Sense of Sight

When you are presenting your speech, think of how you can visually describe what you are wanting to get across. Let’s use an example throughout this article to help illustrate the points. Let’s imagine you are giving a speech about how to deal with stress.

In what way could you visually describe stress so that it becomes something your audience can see.

If stress were a car, what kind would it be and what would it look like? Stress could be a NASCAR car with its engine maxed out going over 200 MPH dodging and darting through traffic and one wreck after another just trying to survive and win the race while doing it.

Stress could be dump truck moving up a long steep incline loaded to the axle, downshifting every few yards trying to make it to the top.

You can think of other examples. By employing these word pictures, your audience will connect and enjoy thinking of something so common in a new way.

This really helps me in my online bible study. Try using this strategy and see if your verbal barrages begin to improve.

Go ahead, play with it! Stress could be an insect. Stress could be a favorite toy. Stress could be a soft drink. Knock the socks of your boredom and use your eyes to describe stress.

2. The Sense of Smell
The same is applicable to the other senses. Think of how you can describe your topic in terms of smell.

You can make it a favorite perfume or something that stinks. To stick with the example, how would you describe stress in terms of scent.

Stress is like driving by a dairy farm (visual) and then the scent comes into the car. It begins as a slightly discomforting smell and then proceeds to gag you, so you speed up to get through it. Similar to day a work!

You can come up with other examples, you get the drift, pun intended.

3. The Sense of Sound
Stress is like an alarm clock set on snooze, the longer it goes on, the more bothersome it becomes. It also begins to annoy everyone else in the house.

4. The Sense of Taste
Stress is like devouring jalapeno peppers. At first it doesn’t seem like it’s too bad. But keep at it and you’ll be up all night paying the price.

5. The Sense of Touch
Stress is like holding onto a live wire. You know its going to kill you if you don’t let go, but you can’t. You need help!

This little tactic can go a long way to breaking you out of the stronghold of boredom.

We all have those days where it seems like everything we touch goes bad. You know the days, where you feel like you should just go back to bed and start over again! We all have them and many times we simply give into the negative emotions or thoughts that run through our head, allowing for the day to continue on this negative path.

Did you know that you can turn any day around and make it as great as it possibly can be? You don’t have to wait for any outside influences to make the day better for you, instead you can do it for yourself.

Check out this inspiring video below for a quick boost:

Affirmations For Those Tough Days

Positive affirmations are a great tool that can help you get through any day, no matter how tough. Affirmations are basically positive statements that encapsulate your ideals for the way that you want to feel. Words have power and you can use this power to help you move past the negative aspects of any day, no matter how bad. When you use these statements during those tough times, you’ll replace negative thought with positive thought and you’ll instantly feel better.

There are plenty of positive affirmations out there that will help you kick start your day Many people have their own list of affirmations that they memorize or have written down so in those moments when they are ready to just go back to bed or allow for the negative experiences to take over they can call on the positive thought and change the influence from positive to negative.

When you are having a bad day you can say to yourself: “No one can steal my joy. It is mine to give, to share, and to enjoy.”

This is just one example of a positive affirmation that you can repeat to yourself today. As you can see, these are very simple to memorize so that when you are having a hard time you have a positive thought to dwell on instead of just negative thought.

Some people use affirmations only when they’re under stress. One thing to keep in mind when you use affirmations is that the more you use them, or reaffirm them, the more power that they have.

When you wake up feeling grumpy or you just aren’t looking forward to your day, start your day off with positive affirmations. You’ll be impressed by the power that words have on your frame of mind. When you replace a negative thought with a positive one you can turn a bad day into a not so bad day in just one breath.

Using positive affirmations is a great way to ensure that you always have positive thought to draw on. Many of us wait for someone or something to cheer us up or brighten our day, but when you use positive affirmations you can do this for yourself. You’ll feel great when you are able to change the direction of your day, especially when it is as simple as saying something aloud.
