The History of Dollhouses, Dolls, and Miniature accessories

Historically, the earliest Doll Houses appear furnished and decorated with many miniature dollhouse accessories, but show very few inhabitants. It has been speculated that tradesmen were reluctant to make dolls because they thought that the final result couldn’t be as realistic looking as the Miniature accessories. This changed in the 17th and 18th century Europe, as manufacturers perfected their skills and gained confidence.
